Employers, managers, and supervisors wield enormous power in the workplace over the lives and wellbeing of their employees. Congress has recognized that sometimes this power can be abused by managers who retaliate if they don't like something that employee has said or done.

    Retaliation on the job by employers is definitely a problem. Anyone who is not afraid to speak out has learned this.

    But I really don't know how you can do anything about it. Sure, you can pass laws against it, but the many methods of retaliating without it being obvious, are going to be difficult to detect.

    Even if a law is passed, it will be so watered down that it will be useless.

      Of course, as long as they wield the power, if they can find an inch of an excuse to get rid of you, they will, via a two-faced, ambitious ladder-climbing fellow employees for instance, or by any other means...they'll fire you for sure at the drop of a hat. As everybody knows, a boss spelled backwards is a double S.O.B. ...well at times at least.

      How can the SCOTUS hold and support the right of a woman to have the power to choose what she can do with her body yet at the same time allow employers the power to force their employees to "give up" a part of their bodies for random drug screening?

      Without a justifiable "reason", thus the term "random", doesn't this amount to unreasonable search and seizure?

      Even federal law enforcement cannot obtain a search warrant without "just cause". Aren't they really "searching" for something in a random screen?

      Employers, managers and supervisors wield way too much power and I believe it's high time they get taken down a few notches!

        I fear this could be a double edge law as what is to protect managers and supervisors from a disgruntle employee who can just claim his superiors don't like him/her.
