My question is: will this affect employers who combine vacation and sick leave? Essentially this is no different, with workers coming in sick rather than using up their vacation. Quite a few large corporations have moved to this model to save $$$.

Sounds like a dumb idea and good way to burden job providers even more.

So, when someone feels like taking a day off with pay, all they would have to do is call in sick under the proposed law. When their sick pay is used up, they'll just come in sick, anyway. If it becomes law, you can bet LOTS of people will keep working while sick, saving their "sick leave" for other things.

It's news to me they didn't already have it ...

If they're sick, I would rather they not come in and get the rest of us sick.
