Slumping economy: It's a guy thing

Careers & Jobs – From last November through this April, American women aged 20 and up gained nearly 300,000 jobs, according to the household survey of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. At the same time, American men lost nearly 700,000 jobs. You might even say American men are in recession, and American women are not.

As it says in the article: "While they're [women are] getting more jobs, their pay is stagnant"

Not only stagnant, but stagnant toward the lower end of the pay scale.

Basically, the Bush Economy is giving HUGE profits to the ultra-rich (e.g. Wall Street performance) and DECREASING pay to the workers that actually do something.

TRICKLE DOWN DOES'T TRICKLE DOWN: it just makes the ultra-rich richer.

You touch upon the real reason women are "gaining" jobs at the expense of men--they can be paid less. Replacing a worker with a lower-paid worker may provide some benefits to the employer, but it does nothing to help the economic plight of the American family.

Ahh yes, somehow Quackpot always makes it about Bush - and I don't mean female bush!

How can your pay be stagnant it you just got a new job? Wouldn't you have to hold a job for a while for your pay to "stagnate"? Does that mean men's pay is regressing? I'll take stagnant over regressing any day.

As far as "trickle down," the idea is, more money in the market means more corporate activity means more jobs and more pay. Beats the hell out of higher taxes, fewer jobs and less economic activity. Boosting the minimum wage sure worked wonders, didn't it? Anyone with any sense said it would hurt and not help the economy.

What's all this Lib bullsh!t about a slumping economy? Didn't you read the latest figures that the GNP rose .6% ? C'mon. This was loudly trumpeted by Cons as irrefutable evidence that we are in a boom not a recession.

Of course, some financial experts, probably flaming libs, pointed out that anything less than 1.5% indicates recession, but what do you expect from damn liberals who just can't stand the prosperity we're enjoying.

Trickle Down DOES work! Give the super rich more money, steak, caviar, lobster, booze, wine and ale.

Look up! It's trickling down! It's yellow and brown - but it's trickling down like it always has, just as planned. Steak and lemonade - believe it!

The trickle down halps people in the poorest part of the cities.

You can see all the fanciest cars there... coming in to buy drugs from the poor with all that "extra income".

REMEMBER NOW--IT IS FINANCIALLY ADVANTAGEOUS TO USE CHINESE COMMUNIST LABOE TO UNBDECUT AMERICAN LABOR, SO THAT IS WHERE YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR STUFF MADE..NO MATTER IT HELPS THE ENEMY--AS LONG AS YOU MAKE MONEY..SO NOW THE AMERICAN HAS NO MONEY TO BUY THAT CHEAP CHINESE CRAP..

AMERICAN BUSINESSES AIDING THE ENEMY..GREAT..

AMERICAN POLITICIANS DOING NOTHING, EXCEPT HOLDING THIER HAND OUT FOR BRIBES..

MAYBE I WILL MOVE BACK TO MY FATHERS HOME LAND..THIS COUNTRY CAN TAKE IT, AND STICK IT..

this makes sense if you consider that a large proportion of jobs that were lost are in construction, which is a field where men are represented in much higher numbers.
